The Charm of Granville
Granville is a small college town, and home to Denison University. Founded in 1805, by immigrants from Massachusetts, the town shares many similarities with the east coast. The brick lined crosswalks and historic buildings have seen little change over the years, making a perfect setting for the gallery. Our village once identified for its impressive elm trees, is again known as a tree city. Two of Ohio’s most famous inns are located in downtown Granville, and many B & B’s are included in the vast number of historic homes. Kussmaul Gallery is sited in a restored downtown building, originally constructed as a warehouse during the canal era. Previous uses of the building included; drug store, printing shop, and book store. Our gallery is beautifully offset by the structural materials of the period including hand-hewn beams, and original wood floors. It is named in honor of W. H. Kussmaul, owner of The Granville Times & Printing Company during the early 1900’s. Things to See
